Moldovan government to provide one-off allowances to seven war veterans
Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/ - The government has allocated 410,000 lei from the state budget for second-level local public administration authorities, in order to be able to provide one-off allowances to ten beneficiaries from three districts: Nisporeni Rascani and Chisinau. It is about seven participants in combat actions for the defence of Moldova’s territorial integrity and independence and three participants in the combat actions in Afghanistan, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Also at the today’s meeting, the cabinet ruled that the veterans who took part in the Chernobyl accident relief works and who have medical contraindications to be treated in spas and sanatoriums will be able to benefit from financial compensation in exchange for holiday vouchers. According to the National Social Insurances House, 24 people will benefit from such compensations.
„The veterans who were in Chernobyl and who, for health reasons, cannot go to sanatoriums, as a matter of fact provided by the state for free, can benefit in exchange from the financial equivalent value of these holiday vouchers, which seems to me absolutely correct,’’ acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi said.
