Moldovan president approached transformation of healthcare system with health system representatives
Chisinau, Sep 12 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu participated today in a conference of the National Health Insurance Company - Compulsory health insurance in the Republic of Moldova: two decades of implementation, the presidential press service has reported.
"Every day, children, elderly, sick people in our country need help, and the state must be able to guarantee two things: that all these people confidently turn to us for help, trust in doctors, trust in medical science, and the medical system manages to help all of them or as many as possible. This is what we are striving for: to provide good working conditions for doctors and the highest quality of treatment for patients," the official said.
The president approached the transformation of the healthcare system with more than 200 representatives of the healthcare system - hospital directors, heads of departments, heads of health centres, heads of agencies.
The head of state said that over the last three years, about 3 billion lei have been invested in hospitals across the country, a record amount for Moldova. "And this is just the beginning. Just as today's renovated intensive care wards and newly-created stroke centers - which are indistinguishable from those in European hospitals - look today, so will all our hospitals gradually look. Together, we are building a truly European healthcare system that people trust," Maia Sandu said.
