Moldovan president awards Order of Honour to Romanian official

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Nicolae Timofti today signed a decree on awarding the Order of Honour to State Secretary, head of the Emergency Situations Department at the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs Raed Arafat, the presidential press service has reported.

A press release of the presidency says that "the distinction was awarded to Arafat as a token of high appreciation of the special merits in the implementation of the Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) in Moldova, for contribution to the development of cross-border relations and intense work to train staff in the field of providing emergency medical assistance."
