Moldovan president discussed foreign policy priorities with ambassadors of Moldova
Chisinau, August 18 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu participated today in an annual meeting of ambassadors, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state spoke to the diplomats about the achievements that our country has achieved in the last year in the field of foreign policy, and about the role that our embassies play in amplifying and multiplying these results. President Maia Sandu mentioned that the major achievement of this year is obtaining the status of a candidate country for the EU, which already brings benefits to the people of Moldova.
It is about expanding export quotas for agricultural products; the temporary liberalization of road freight transport through the EU; of assistance for the energy and defense sectors.
Also, Maia Sandu said that how quickly we start the accession negotiations depends on the fulfillment of the recommendations of the European Commission, but also on how we will know how to promote our country. Thus, European integration must be a permanent file and a daily concern of our diplomatic missions, together with promoting the interests of the Moldovan diaspora and economic diplomacy, two other priorities that must dominate the diplomatic agenda.
