Moldovan president has meeting with National Bank's governor
Chisinau, 3 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today had a working meeting with Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) Octavian Armasu.
According to the presidential press service, the sides discussed more details on the preparation of the programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is necessary for strengthening the macroeconomic framework and development of Moldova’s economy.
Also, Igor Dodon and Octavian Armasu referred to the march of reforms in the banking sector and, in the context they reiterated the importance of BNM’s independence for carrying out the priorities assumed by the latter.
The officials were unanimous that Moldova needs a stable, reliable banking sector and safe for the citizens, as well as attractive for the business environment. In this respect, the head of state welcomed the significant efforts of the National Bank of Moldova.
