Moldovan president to pay official visit to Austria
Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu will pay an official visit to Austria on 21-22 October, at an invitation by her Austrian counterpart, the president press service has reported.
On 21 October, President Maia Sandu will have a meeting with President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen, after which the two leaders will hold a joint news conference. Maia Sandu will have more meetings with Austrian officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Werner Kogler, Deputy Parliament Speaker Doris Bures, Federal Minister of European and International Affairs Michael Linhart. The head of state will also meet OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid. On 21 October evening, Maia Sandu will have a discussion with representatives of the Moldovan Diaspora in Austria.
In Austria, the Moldovan president will be accompanied by Secretary General of the Presidency Cristina Gherasimov and the presidential adviser on economy issues, Veaceslav Negruta. The official delegation is also made up of Economics Minister Sergiu Gaibu and Environment Minister Iuliana Cantaragiu, MPs, member of the parliament’s commission for economy, budget and finances Radu Marian, the head of the Moldova-Austria friendship group Adrian Belii and the director of the Investments Agency, Stelian Manic. The delegation members will have meetings on important subjects for the country’s agenda at the Chamber of Commerce of Austria and at the Secretariat of the Energy Community and will visit the waste incineration plant from Spittelau.
