United Nations to continue to support Moldova in sustainable development programmes
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu had a meeting with Yesim Oruc, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations (UN) in Moldova. The officials discussed the priority areas of cooperation between the government and the UN Agencies in Moldova.
The PM appreciated the consistent support offered by the UN in the transformation process of Moldova: "The government's priorities are economic growth and the European integration of the country, and the external assistance we receive is quite valuable," said prime minister, noting the support for the energy, education, security and social inclusion sectors.
The discussion agenda also covered UN support for the integration into society of Ukrainians who have decided to settle long-term in Moldova, providing them access to the labor market, education and social protection.
The officials reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the partnership on implementing the 2030 Agenda. UN Coordinator Yesim Oruc assured that she would continue to support the government in implementing sustainable development programmes, in carrying out projects in the fields of education and humanitarian assistance.
The collaboration between Moldova and the UN takes place based on the Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development 2023-2027.
