Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, during his official visit to Bucharest, has had   a meeting with the President of Romania Nicusor Dan. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, expanding joint projects and Romania’s constant support for Moldova’s European path.

The PM expressed appreciation for the assistance provided in the process of modernizing Moldova, noting that Romania remains one of the country’s main partners in promoting reforms, deepening economic cooperation and implementing projects that enhance the security and prosperity of citizens.

“We work side by side, united by the same aspiration: to see Moldova firmly anchored in the great European family. I am sure that, together with trusted friends and partners, such as Romania, Moldova is moving forward,” the prime minister said.

The officials emphasized that, in the context of the major challenges triggered by Russia’s war against Ukraine, close cooperation in energy connectivity and infrastructure projects was vital for the two countries’ common security. Investments in high-voltage power lines, along with the modernization of schools and universities and support for competitive businesses, represent our firm response for ensuring stability in the region. At the same time, they highlighted the importance of interconnection between the two markets and the increase of Romanian investments in the national economy.

“Moldova is and will remain a key concern for Romania. We will continue to support its integration into the European Union, as well as the integration of our two economies,” underlined President of Romania Nicusor Dan.
