Participation of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration in roundtable on Transnistrian conflict settlement process, held in Vilnius
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri on a working visit to Vilnius, Republic of Lithuania took part on July 9 in a roundtable, Transnistrian conflict settlement process: strategic perspectives, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
The event brought together representatives of the Lithuanian authorities, the diplomatic corps, experts, and international partners, providing a platform for dialogue on developments in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, current security challenges, and prospects for identifying a peaceful and lasting solution.
The Deputy Prime Minister presented the main developments in the country’s reintegration process, emphasizing the measures undertaken by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to extend the single fiscal and economic space over the entire territory of the country.
The official also informed participants about preparations for the launch of the Convergence Fund, a mechanism aimed at financing social and infrastructure projects for the benefit of residents of the eastern districts of the Republic of Moldova. He stressed that the fund will help improve citizens’ quality of life, reduce development disparities between the two banks of the Dniester River, and strengthen the country’s reintegration process.
Participants in the event reaffirmed the importance of maintaining dialogue and international support to promote a peaceful and lasting settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.
