Bilateral meetings with Lithuanian officials during working visit of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration to Vilnius
During his working visit to Vilnius, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri held new bilateral meetings with officials of the Republic of Lithuania, dedicated to strengthening political dialogue and deepening cooperation between the two states.
During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, the parties exchanged views on the developments in the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict, reiterating the importance of identifying a peaceful and lasting solution, while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders.
At the same time, the parties discussed the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in the process of accession to the European Union, appreciating Lithuania’s consistent support for advancing the country’s European path and for implementing the reforms necessary in this process.
The discussion agenda also included the prospects for developing cooperation between the two states, highlighting the high level of Moldovan-Lithuanian relations and the opportunities to expand collaboration in areas such as security, strengthening institutional capacities, making use of Lithuania’s experience in the process of joining the European Union, as well as in other sectors of common interest.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintain an active political dialogue and to fully capitalize on the potential of bilateral cooperation.
