
Moldovan president conveys condolences on passing away of writer Vladimir Besleaga, announces decreeing of national mourning
President Maia Sandu expresses deep regret about the passing away of writer Vladimir Besleaga, one of the most important voices of Moldova’s literature.
„The Man and Writer Vladimir Besleaga passed away, but he bequeathed us something extremely valuable. He bequeathed us a rich literary legacy, in which we find confirmed the concerns of our people and the agitation of the History and of our feelings. He bequeathed us much warmth and kindness, a kind wisdom, which guided us to love this Nation young and old alike,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
To pay tribute to great writer Vladimir Besleaga, the day of the funerals will be declared national mourning day. On this day, the state flags will be raised at half mast and the citizens will be urged to stand silent for one minute in the memory of the writer who marked Moldova’s national culture and identity.
President Maia Sandu conveys condolences to the family, the loves people and all those who knew, respected the departed writer and read his works.
