President to pay visits to Finland and Latvia
President Maia Sandu will pay visits to the Republic of Finland and the Republic of Latvia on 31 March - 1 April, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation, with a focus on regional security and Moldova’s accession process to the European Union.
On 31 March, the head of state will be on a working visit to Helsinki, to meet with President of Finland Alexander Stubb. Afterwards, the two leaders will hold a joint press conference. The agenda also includes discussions with other officials and representatives of Finland’s civil society.
The President’s trip will continue in Riga on 1 April, as part of an official visit at the invitation of President of the Republic of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs. The head of state will have a meeting with Latvian counterpart, followed by a joint press conference, as well as meetings with Prime Minister Evika Siliņa and the leadership of the Latvian Parliament. Additionally, Maia Sandu will deliver a speech in a plenary session of the legislature in Riga.
