Speaker to attend Parliamentary Summit of the Three Seas Initiative in Zagreb

Speaker Igor Grosu will participate in the Parliamentary Summit of the Three Seas Initiative. The meeting, entitled "Advancing the Three Seas Initiative: Vision, Responsibility, Partnership", will take place on 24–25 March and will be hosted by the Parliament of Croatia.

The official will deliver a speech at the summit, addressing the presidents and vice presidents of the parliaments from the Three Seas Initiative participating states, associated participating states, as well as the Initiative’s strategic partners and special guests. Following the debates, the summit’s Final Declaration will be adopted.

In Zagreb, the official will hold meetings with his counterparts: the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Jandroković; the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Niko Peleshi; and the President of the National Council of Slovakia, Richard Raši. The agenda also includes discussions with the Secretary General of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Benedetta Berti, as well as with the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković.

The Three Seas Initiative is an informal platform that brings together several European Union member states from the region of the three seas – the Baltic, Adriatic and Black Seas. Since 2023, the Republic of Moldova has held the status of associated participating state within the Initiative.

The cooperation format aims to strengthen regional collaboration, in particular in the fields of energy infrastructure, transport and digitalization. The Initiative seeks to attract new investments, stimulate economic growth, enhance energy security and reinforce cohesion at the European level.
