Authorized by European Commission: Fresh poultry meat, poultry meat products can be exported to EU from entire territory of Moldova
Fresh poultry meat, as well as poultry meat products, can be exported to the European Union from the entire territory of Moldova, according to a decision of the European Commission from 6 February 2026. This confirms the increasingly high level of quality and food safety standards of products from Moldova, as well as the effective work of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA).
Moldova has earlier been authorized to export poultry meat and poultry meat products only from certain regions of the country that were not affected by outbreaks of avian influenza, as provided for in European Union legislation.
The changes come after, in the last 12 months, no highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks have been recorded in the areas from which the fresh poultry meat and poultry meat products authorized for export to the EU originate.
Thus, through the decision of the European Commission, the high public health and animal health standards applied throughout Moldova are recognized. At the same time, export opportunities for producers from Moldova are enhancing, the poultry sector is being further developed and the competitiveness of domestic products is strengthened.
