Moldovan PM has meeting with Ukrainian President
The ways to capitalize on the close ties between Moldova and Ukraine and advance the process of European integration through mutual support have been the main topics discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.
The PM reaffirmed Moldova’s firm support for Ukraine and for efforts to restore peace. The prime minister emphasized that the Moldovan authorities would continue to provide political, diplomatic and humanitarian support to the neighboring country, which, for four years now, has been proving heroism and courage in the face of the inhuman war waged by the Russian Federation.
"Moldova and Ukraine want the same thing – a sky above our heads that we look to with hope for the future, not with fear. We want to build a world in which our children live in freedom, and we are reliable partners on this path," the prime minister noted.
Moldova constantly provides humanitarian aid packages to Ukraine. In total, 11 convoys have been sent so far. In addition, last week the government approved the delivery of a new batch of humanitarian assistance.
During the meeting, the prime minister confirmed Moldova’s readiness to contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine, including through the implementation of bilateral and regional initiatives in the areas of transport, infrastructure, energy, cyber resilience and security. At the same time, the participants highlighted the continuation of cooperation within the trilateral format, Odesa Triangle (Moldova–Ukraine–Romania).
