PM has discussions with Ambassador of Belgium to Moldova
Belgium firmly supports the European aspirations of Moldova and the reforms initiated by the Moldovan authorities to improve citizens’ quality of life. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Ambassador of Belgium Evert Marechal have discussed opportunities of the bilateral cooperation aimed at advancing the country’s European agenda.
The PM reiterated Moldova’s determination to build a safe, peaceful and European future, noting that economic development is one of the key priorities for the coming period. In this regard, the authorities continue to encourage businesses and reduce bureaucracy, in order to ensure a friendly environment for all those who decide to invest in Moldova.
The sides discussed the business opportunities available to Belgian investors. Presently, 117 companies with Belgian capital are operating in Moldova, and the parties aim to increase this number.
The officials also discussed cooperation in the energy sector and the coordination of efforts for the successful implementation of the Growth Plan for Moldova, supported by the European Union.
