CEC: Electoral candidates can replace candidates or withdraw lists until 18 September
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has announced the conditions under which political parties, electoral blocs, and independent candidates can make changes to the candidate lists for the parliamentary elections on 28 September 2025.
According to the CEC, until the start of the electoral campaign, political formations can request the replacement or supplementation of the candidate list. Decisions regarding these changes are made within the central bodies of the parties or electoral blocs and are confirmed by report.
The electoral institution has up to five days to approve the changes and issue the corresponding credentials.
Additionally, until 18 September 2025, electoral competitors can request changes in the order of the list, exclusion of some candidates, or even the complete withdrawal of the list. Independent candidates also have the right to withdraw their candidacy.
CEC reiterates that following any modification, the gender quota of 40% for both sexes must be respected, and positioning on the list must follow the formula of at least four candidates of the same sex for every ten positions.
On 28 September, parliamentary elections will take place in the Republic of Moldova.
