Electronic Governance Agency tests EVO 2.0 digital wallet, compliant with European standards

The Electronic Governance Agency has announced the development of version 2.0 of the digital identity wallet within EVO app, aligned with the requirements of the European digital identity card (eIDAS 2.0). Last week, the institution tested the issuance of a driver's license according to the international ISO 18013 standard and verified the document through the demonstration validation platform verifier.eudiw.dev.

According to the Agency, the new EVO version complies with the European Union Reference Architecture and will become a secure and interoperable solution at the European level, offering citizens the possibility to use digital documents recognized within the EU.

The EVO app is a governmental platform of the Republic of Moldova, developed by the Electronic Governance Agency under the aegis of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. Through it, citizens can access digital documents such as identity cards, driver's licenses, or registration certificates, as well as various public services, online appointments, personal data integrated through mCabinet, medical information, and over 60 types of authorizations.

Available on iOS and Android, the EVO app aims to become a single access point for citizens and companies, facilitating interaction with the state and promoting a digital society.
