Energy Minister expected in Parliament. Opposition filed simple motion

Members of the parliamentary opposition today submitted a simple motion against Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu. They asked the official to come to Parliament to provide explanations.

The motion was presented by Constantin Cuiumju, an MP of Our Party faction.

According to the legislation, a simple motion is a tool through which Parliament expresses its position on an issue of domestic or foreign policy and may be initiated by at least 15 MPs.

Speaker Igor Grosu said that in accordance with legal procedures, the motion must contain its grounds and operative part and is submitted to the chair of the parliamentary sitting.

After receiving it, the chair informs the MPs about the motion, sets the date for the debate and forwards it to the Government.

The debate will take place within 14 working days from its submission, with the opinion of the standing committee.

The simple motion is adopted by a majority vote of the MPs and the decision is published in the Official Journal.
