EU Ambassador to Moldova says hybrid threats persist, yet, Moldova continues to defend democratic values

Moldova is facing complex and long-lasting hybrid threats; yet, state institutions and society stay determined to defend democracy and European values. European Union Ambassador to Iwona Piórko has made statements to this effect during the 14th meeting of the EU Security Hub, held in Chisinau.

“The hybrid threats faced by Moldova are serious and persistent. Equally strong, however, is the determination of its institutions and citizens to defend democratic values,” the ambassador said.

The meeting of the EU Security Hub focuses on strengthening cooperation between national authorities and European partners, highlighting the experience of EU member states in securing electoral processes, protecting the information space, and the role of civil society and the media in strengthening democracy.
