European Parliament President to deliver speech at solemn session of parliament in Chișinău
President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, who is visiting the Republic of Moldova, is expected on 7 November to attend a solemn session of the parliament in Chișinău. She will deliver a speech on the occasion of the establishment of the 12th Legislature. The session begins at 10:00 AM.
In Chișinău, Roberta Metsola has meetings planned with key state institution representatives, including President Maia Sandu, Speaker Igor Grosu, and Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu. Additionally, the President of the European Parliament will hold a joint press conference with Maia Sandu.
Meanwhile, Roberta Metsola will also have discussions with opinion leaders and will participate in a public event dedicated to youth, organized at 'Spiru Haret' Theoretical High School in the capital.
Roberta Metsola previously visited our country in November 2022, when she delivered a speech in the plenary session of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, conveying a message of support for our country's European path.
Additionally, in May 2023, the European official participated in the 'European Moldova' Assembly. Roberta Metsola then addressed, from the stage in the Great National Assembly Square in the center of the capital, a message in Romanian to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, stating, 'Moldova is not alone' and that 'Europe is Moldova, Moldova is Europe.'
In June 2023, Roberta Metsola returned to the Republic of Moldova to participate in the European Political Community Summit, an event organized for the first time in our country, which brought together around 50 heads of state and government.
