The Environment Ministry of Moldova announces an update of the intervention actions carried out on the Dniester River, in the context of managing the situation on the ground.

According to the institution, in the locality of Arionesti, northern Donduseni district, intervention teams have strengthened the affected sector by installing a new dam, bringing the total number of absorbent barriers to seven.

At the same time, in Cosauti, measures were taken to secure the pumping station that serves more localities, including the municipalities of Soroca and Balti, as well as the districts of Floresti and Sangerei. In this regard, an additional protective dam was set and an existing absorbent barrier was replaced.

Environment Ministry’s representatives note that interventions are continuing at both points considered critical, where the process of spreading absorbent material is underway, in order to limit the effects on the environment and the water supply infrastructure.
