VIDEO // Moldovan president to attend Security Forum
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu was welcomed today at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki by Finnish President Alexander Stubb. The two presidents will discuss bilateral relations, European security, and the Republic of Moldova’s accession process to the European Union.
The meeting between Maia Sandu and Alexander Stubb will be followed by a joint press conference. The two heads of state will also attend the opening of the Helsinki Security Forum 2026, organized by the Finnish Institute of International Affairs.
The visit’s agenda includes meetings with Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo and Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Jussi Halla-aho. The Moldovan president will also hold discussions with several Finnish lawmakers and other officials involved in developing relations between the Republic of Moldova and Finland.
Maia Sandu’s working visit is taking place on Friday, October 2, at the invitation of Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
