Minister of Environment announces continuation of activity as member of Parliament

Acting Minister of Environment Sergiu Lazarencu announced today that he will continue his activity as a Member of Parliament, aiming to promote environmental protection priorities from this position.

The official made the announcement during a press conference where he presented the most important achievements in the environmental field obtained during his tenure as head of the Ministry of Environment.

“If I talk about my future plans, they remain the same, I will help accelerate all environmental projects, the National Afforestation Program, the 'Solid Waste in Moldova' project, and aligning legislation with the acquis communautaire, so that waste goes to its rightful place, not on hills, in lakes or forests. Moldova should have more forests, and together we should integrate the country into the European Union. I will support these three major objectives, along with other environmental priorities, as a Member of Parliament responsible for the environment. This will be a continuation of the efforts I made at the ministry,” stated the minister.

Sergiu Lazarencu was appointed as the Minister of Environment in March 2024.

Following the parliamentary elections on September 28, Sergiu Lazarencu was elected as a Member of Parliament on the lists of the Action and Solidarity Party.
