About 770 young people from Transnistrian region study with state funding at institutions on right bank of Dniester
A number of 766 young people from the Transnistrian region benefited from state-funded places in educational institutions on the right bank of the Dniester in the first semester of 2025, according to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC).
“Specifically, 459 young people were registered in higher education programmes, and another 307 - in technical vocational education. The average cost borne by the state for each student is about 16,486 lei. In the case of students from vocational schools, the state covered on average 23,700 lei and for those in colleges and centers of excellence – about 29,300 lei,” said the Reintegration Policies Bureau.
At the same time, starting from March 2018 till the end of June 2025, national authorities applied the Moldovan apostille on 643 neutral model diplomas issued to young people from the Transnistrian region. This allowed them to continue their studies in various countries, including EU member states, the United Kingdom, Canada, the USA and Israel.
The reintegration of young people from the left bank of the Dniester into the educational system of Moldova is a strategic priority of the state, contributing to the creation of a common space of education, values and opportunities, the cited source added.
