Moldovan parliament turns down simple motion of censure against finance minister
Chisinau, 23 June /MOLDPRES/ - The parliamentary majority today turned down a simple motion of censure initiated by MPs of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) against Finance Minister Octavian Armasu.
The PSRM lawmakers invoked that, “six months after the Filip government was sworn in office, this year is on the way of becoming an economic failure because of the policy of over-taxation, over-indebtedness and cut in investments – actions for which the Finance Ministry led by Octavian Armasu is responsible.”
For his part, the minister said that “this simple motion of censure is rather a way some politicians distract citizens’ attention from the true reforms and developments of the present government, recorded in the social and economic sector.”
Also, Armasu said that the “Fiscal Service collected by 706.1 million lei (16.5 per cent) more against the same period of the last year, and the Customs Service accumulated by 655.3 million lei (9.7 per cent) more revenues against 2015, and this in conditions when the export dropped by about 12 per cent.”
Last week, the parliament rejected a simple motion of censure, submitted by the PSRM faction against Defence Minister Anatol Salaru. Today, the Socialists filed a new simple motion of censure against Labour, Social Protection and Family Minister Stela Grigoras.
