Moldovan PM makes statements after discussions with presidents of Romania, Ukraine

The Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine are three countries closely connected by history, by their people and by the values we believe in. Today, we are looking together in the same direction – towards a free, secure and united region within the great European family. The statements were made today by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, after discussions with the President of Romania, Nicusor Dan and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he participated alongside Head of State Maia Sandu and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.

“On its 35th anniversary of independence, the Republic of Moldova is celebrating together with its neighbors and friends – Romania and Ukraine. I am pleased to welcome to Chișinău today Presidents Nicusor Dan and Volodymyr Zelensky,” Vasile Tofan underlined.

The official pointed out that, together with Maia Sandu and Igor Grosu, he had discussed with Nicusor Dan and Volodymyr Zelensky the challenges shared by the three states: regional security, peace and stability, as well as energy security.

“We also talked about the concrete things we can do together: better roads and railways, new bridges and investments that will connect our countries and our people even more closely. We are three countries closely connected by history, by our people and by the values we believe in. Today, we are looking together in the same direction – towards a free, secure and united region within the great European family,” Vasile Tofan said.

The Republic of Moldova is celebrating today 35 years since the proclamation of its Independence. On this occasion, Chișinău is being visited by President of Romania Nicusor Dan and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
