Moldovan foreign affairs minister has farewell meeting with Lithuanian Ambassador
Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi today had a farewell meeting with Ambassador of Lithuania to Moldova Tadas Valionis, on the occasion of the conclusion of his diplomatic mission. The discussions focused on the evolution of the Moldovan-Lithuanian dialogue, strengthening resilience and institutional capacities, defence, support for democratic processes, digitalization and cybersecurity.
The Moldovan diplomacy head highlighted the political and technical support provided by Lithuania for implementing reforms and advancing the European path of Moldova.
“Thank you for your personal involvement, determination and efforts throughout your mandate. The results speak for themselves: intensified political dialogue and high-level visits, the development of economic exchanges and support in the process of accession to the European Union. You leave behind a solid bilateral relationship that we will continue to develop,” Mihai Popsoi noted.
The minister also appreciated the ambassador’s contribution to boosting economic and investment cooperation, underlining the need to further harness the present potential and to bring the level of economic relations closer to the one of the bilateral political dialogue.
For his part, Ambassador Tadas Valionis highlighted the progress made by Moldova over the past four years and expressed confidence that the Moldovan-Lithuanian partnership would continue to support Moldova through new initiatives and concrete results.
At the end of the meeting, Mihai Popsoi thanked the ambassador for his contribution to the development of the relations between Moldova and Lithuania and wished him success in his future activities.
