European Parliament President congratulates Moldova on Independence Day

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola today sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova.

“Today, we celebrate the strength of the people of the Republic of Moldova, as we build our European future together,” Roberta Metsola wrote on the X platform.

The European official also included a message in Romanian in her congratulations.

“Happy Independence Day, Moldova!” Roberta Metsola emphasized.

Moldova is celebrating 35 years since the proclamation of its Independence. On this occasion, Chisinau today is being visited by President of Romania Nicusor Dan and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

The schedule of events dedicated to Independence Day started in the morning with flower-laying ceremonies at the Grieving Mother monument at the Eternity Memorial Complex and at the monument to Ruler Stephen the Great and Holy. In the afternoon, a military parade will be held on the Great National Assembly Square. The evening will culminate with a concert featuring local artists.
