Moldovan president speaks about exchanging of driving licenses in France without exams
President Maia Sandu has announced important news for Moldovan citizens residing in France. Starting from March 1, they will be able to exchange their Moldovan driving license for cars for a French one, without taking theoretical or practical exams.
According to the head of state, this facility applies to driving licenses issued after January 1, 2020, which comply with modern road safety standards. The measure will significantly simplify procedures for Moldovans in France, eliminating the costs and time required to get a new license.
Maia Sandu emphasized that this decision represented a concrete benefit resulting from the close relationship between Moldova and France.
“This facility is yet another proof that the close relationship with France brings real benefits to our citizens,” the president stressed.
At the same time, the head of state thanked the French authorities for their openness and support, reaffirming the commitment of the Moldovan authorities to continue efforts in support of the Diaspora.
“We will continue to work, so that every Moldovan, wherever they may be, feels that the state stands by them and makes their life easier,” Maia Sandu added.
The new rule will enter into force starting March 1 and applies exclusively to licenses for the car category, providing important support to the Moldovan community of France.
