Foreign Ministry condemns violation of Moldova’s airspace by drone
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the violation of the Republic of Moldova’s airspace by a drone that fell and exploded outside the built-up area of Hîrbovăț village, Anenii Noi district, amid the massive attacks carried out by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
According to the MFA, the incident constitutes a serious violation of the sovereignty and security of the Republic of Moldova and creates direct risks for citizens.
The Ministry emphasizes that such incidents are unacceptable and states that the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine is creating increasingly concrete risks for the Republic of Moldova and the security of the entire region.
A drone flew through the airspace of the Republic of Moldova and fell this morning outside the built-up area of Hîrbovăț village, Anenii Noi district, where it exploded.
Later, the Ministry of Defense announced that an unmanned aerial vehicle had flown through the national airspace in the area of Lunga, Dubăsari district, at 10:26 a.m. Following the incident, a decision was made to close the airspace in the northern and central areas.
