Parliament convenes for 2026 spring session, according to order signed by speaker

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will convene for the 2026 spring session starting on 2 February. An order to this effect was signed by Speaker Igor Grosu.

According to the document, MPs will meet in a plenary sitting at the proposal of the Standing Bureau of Parliament, after the draft agenda has been prepared.

"If 2025 was a year of resilience, then I want 2026 to be a year of consolidation and development. The Republic of Moldova is no longer at the stage of ‘what it wants to be’, but at the stage of ‘having the courage to become’. The road is not easy, but the direction is clear," said Igor Grosu, referring to the priorities on the parliamentary agenda for the new year.

The Parliament’s Regulation stipulate that the Legislature meets in two ordinary sessions per year. The spring session begins in February and cannot extend beyond the end of July, while the autumn session begins in September and cannot extend beyond the end of December.
