Prime Minister: Ukraine demonstrates to world what devotion to country and freedom means

Prime Minister Dorin Recean conveyed a message to Ukrainian people on Independence Day.

“Today Ukraine celebrates Independence Day, but every day, it demonstrates to the whole world what devotion to country and freedom means. We admire the courage and strength with which they defend their sovereignty and protect not only their own peace but also the security of the entire region. Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!” wrote Dorin Recean.

Today Ukraine marks National Day. The event commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence from the USSR on August 24, 1991.

For the fourth consecutive year, Ukraine marks Independence Day against the backdrop of a devastating war started by the Russian Federation in February 2022.
