Government spokesperson reacts to protest today

Government spokesperson Daniel Vodă reacted to the protest organized today in front of the Executive by supporters of a political party, describing as electoral. Daniel Vodă noted that at the event, Igor Dodon "failed to explain what was in the black bag" he received in 2019 from former PD leader Vladimir Plahotniuc.

"I learned from the press that at this morning's electoral protest in front of the Government, Igor Dodon failed to explain what was in the black bag but distributed accusations left and right – both to the press and the government. The bloc partners can't even agree on the amount in the bag: once it's 860 thousand euros, then 'we'll clarify at 11:00'. That's their own statement," emphasized Daniel Vodă.

The official said that lies and scandal do not substitute arguments, and citizens "cannot be fooled with a bag and empty words."

"Lies and scandal do not substitute arguments. People are smarter than they think and cannot be fooled with a bag and empty words. We stand united and head in the right direction," affirmed Daniel Vodă.

The reaction comes after the morning protest by supporters of a political party in front of the Executive, expressing dissatisfaction with the economic situation.

On the eve of the event, Vladimir Voronin said on a TV show that in the "famous bag" offered by Vladimir Plahotniuc to Igor Dodon, documented in a video recording that was later made public, there were 860,000 euros.

In response to Vladimir Voronin's statements, Igor Dodon claimed that the event represents "a provocation from the government," intended "to create disunity" within the electoral bloc Patriotic of Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova, created in the context of the parliamentary elections on 28 September.
