Romanian president after Copenhagen Summit says Romania's support for Moldova does not stop

President of Romania Nicusor Dan has reiterated Romania's strong support for Moldova and its European path, following the European Political Community Summit in Copenhagen.

“Our support for Moldova does not stop. I discussed with President Maia Sandu and European partners concrete steps to accelerate the process of European integration. The place of Moldova is in the big European family and Romania's efforts will continue to be strong to this end,” Nicusor Dan said.

The Romanian head of state highlighted his country's commitment to supporting Moldova in strengthening reforms, getting closer to European standards and bilateral cooperation as part of the European integration process.

About 47 European leaders, including heads of state and government from various countries, as well as representatives of European Union institutions and other international organizations participated in the European Political Community Summit, held on October 2, 2025. Among them, there were President of the European Council António Costa, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola.

Attending the event were also leaders from countries such as Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, France, Poland, Romania, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Cyprus and Lithuania. This summit was organized under the presidency of Denmark and aimed to strengthen security and stability in Europe in the current geopolitical context.
