Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu is paying an official visit to Ukraine today, this being the first trip of this level to the neighboring country. The official is on his way to Kyiv together with Cabinet members Vladimir Bolea, Daniella Misail-Nichitin and Dorin Junghietu.
According to the Prime Minister, the visit's agenda includes discussions with Ukrainian partners on the European path of the Republic of Moldova, bilateral cooperation and regional security.
He said that topics related to strengthening relations between the two states and coordinating efforts in the context of security challenges in the region will be addressed.
Alexandru Munteanu emphasized that the visit also has a strong symbolic dimension, being a gesture of solidarity and respect for the Ukrainian people, who are defending their independence and freedom.
“We are going to express our solidarity and respect for the struggle of the Ukrainian people for independence and freedom,” the Prime Minister said.
The visit takes place in the context of strengthening dialogue between Chișinău and Kyiv and their joint support for the objective of European integration.
