High school students and adults will be able to officially certify their Romanian language skills through a national test. The regulation on the matter was published in the Official Journal today.
The Romanian language proficiency certificate will be particularly useful for those wishing to work in public institutions or other structures where knowledge of the Romanian language is mandatory. Additionally, the certificate will ensure equal opportunities for all graduates who wish to continue their studies in Moldova or abroad.
Furthermore, students from non-Romanian-speaking institutions who hold the language proficiency certification, with the appropriate level, will be able to automatically receive a grade of '10' in the Romanian language and literature exam for non-Romanian speakers within the national baccalaureate examination.
The Government decision on the certification of Romanian language communication skills for adults and high school students will come into effect one month from its publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova.
Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun previously announced that the first evaluations could take place by late 2025.
For the implementation of the project, the development of examination materials, the evaluation of written works and oral tests, the Ministry of Education and Research will allocate over 190 thousand lei.
Test models for the written exam will be published on the official website of the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation.
