Three new panels created within Judges' Evaluation Commission in Moldova
Three new panels have been created within the Judges' Evaluation Commission. This measure is driven by the expansion of the Commission to nine members, up from the previous six, following the recent appointment of three additional members by the parliament.
Thus, the panels previously known as A and B have been renamed C and D, retaining their composition and responsibilities. Panels A and B, established on June 23, 2025, will continue their work until the assigned evaluations and re-evaluations are completed. In parallel, three new panels — E, F, and G — have been established by incorporating the three recently appointed members. This reorganization aims to ensure a more balanced distribution of the cases under evaluation.
By a decision from July 10, 2025, the parliament appointed three new members to the Judges' Evaluation Commission; so, it now has nine members, compared to the previous six. The three new members are: two international — Gerrit-Marc Sprenger and Marcel van de Wetering — and one national — Iulian Rusu.
On August 19, the Commission sent notifications regarding the renaming and establishment of the new panels to the presidents and vice-presidents of the courts under evaluation. Following the approval of the new panels, new subjects brought for evaluation will be assigned to the new panels E, F, G. The evaluations referred to the entire Commission will take place with the participation of all nine members.
