PHOTO // Team from Criuleni district of Moldova wins the central region edition of EU & My Grandparents competition

The EU4family team from the Zaicana village, Criuleni district, has become the   winner of the central region edition of the EU & My Grandparents competition.

The event took place in the Stauceni town. Teams from Criuleni, Straseni, Orhei, Ialoveni, Chișinău, Nisporeni and Cricova participated in the competition.

After an intense competition, where participants showed their knowledge of European history and culture, creativity and team spirit, the first three places were occupied by the EU4family team from the village of Zaicana, Criuleni district - first place; the Ingenioșii team from Chișinău - second place; and the "Zig-zag" team from the town of Cricova - third place. All contestants won valuable prizes.

The first edition of the competition took place on August 19 in the village of Rautel, Falesti district, and the second was held on August 20 in the village of Valeni, Cahul district.

The members of the teams who ranked first in the three editions of the competition will go on a trip to a European capital.

The competition aims to bring generations closer and create a bridge between the past, present, and future through creative activities, games, and interactive dialogues. Pupils of V-VIII forms, along with their grandparents, go through several tests: questions about European history and culture, team games and role-playing exercises.

The event is organized by the Bureau for European Integration, in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Ministry of Education and Research, Ministry of Culture, the Association of Intellectual Games of Moldova and the National Youth Agency, with the support of the European Union Delegation in Chisinau, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Moldova and other partners.
