Chisinau, 17 December /MOLDPRES/ - The residents of those ten flats worst hit by an explosion which occurred in the Rascani district of Chisinau will be able to return home till 29 December 2018. The acting mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, made statements to this effect at a weekly meeting of the city hall’s services.
According to the acting mayor, the works carried out at those ten apartments had cost one million lei. “At the same time, the interventions made at another four flats from the 16th floor cost 170,000 lei. Also, repair works were carried out at common-use places at all those 21 floors. The area adjacent to the block of flats will be subsequently arranged,” Codreanu said.
„I thank one again those involved for their quick and efficient work. People could come back to apartments even faster than we initially set. We are happy that they will be able to spend their winder holidays at home,” Ruslan Codreanu noted.
The residents of the flats less hit by the blast could return home back in early December.
Five persons died in the wake of an explosion which took place in a 21-storied block of flats of the capital’s Rascani district on 6 October, this year. The Chisinau city hall earmarked ten million lei for the restoration of the building.
