Apa-Canal Chisinau water supply enterprise to appeal in court sanction received from Environment Inspectorate
Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Apa-Canal Chisinau stock company will appeal in court the fine worth 12 million lei imposed by the Inspectorate for Environmental Protection.
The city hall, along with the stock company and the aforementioned inspectorate today organized a meeting with representatives of big economic agents from Chisinau, beneficiaries of the services. They discussed the latter enterprises’ compulsoriness to set pre-purification stations on their area.
According to the head of the Inspectorate for Environmental Protection, Ion Bulmaga, on 1 January 2022, the Government Decision on the regulation concerning the requirements of collection, purification and overflowing of the residual waters in the public sewerage system will enter into force. ‘’This regulation is applied for all economic agents and it provides for the setting of pre-purification stations on the area of the big economic agents, the residual waters of which have a great concentration of noxious elements,’’ Bulmaga said.
For his part, the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, said that, if the stock company Apa-Canal Chisinau, disconnects the big economic agents from the sewerage system, ‘’high risks to the country’s economic security’’ will appear. ‘’The big economic agents from Chisinau are producers of essential products for the daily consumption and they do not have pre-purification stations. They are the ones which overflow dangerous residual waters into the city’s sewerage network,’’ the mayor noted.
At the same time, Ceban specified that he would not disconnect the economic agents from the city’s sewerage system and that Apa-Canal Chisinau would appeal in court the sanction received from the Inspectorate for Environmental Protection.
