Deadline for cadastral registration of vacation homes extended in Moldova till 2028

The parliament of Moldova today voted, in the second reading, to amend the Urbanism and Construction Code, extending the deadline for the cadastral registration of vacation homes and individual dwellings by two years, until January 30, 2028.

The project, initiated by deputies Vasile Gradinaru, Ilie Ionas and Alic Baraboi from the Action and Solidarity Party faction, applies to houses with up to two stories, with farm outbuildings, situated within the boundaries of localities, as well as vacation homes built on lands of horticultural associations.

At the same time, the law stipulates that, if the local council has not set a fee for issuing the building certificate, it will be issued free of charge, facilitating the cadastral registration process. The document also regulates routine road repairs and sidewalk arrangements, stipulating that project documentation, according to technical norms, will not require additional endorsement no behalf of holders or administrators of utility networks, but only their notification.

The amendments will take effect after publication in the Official Journal.
