Easter family aid to be available starting 2 May
Starting 2 May, Easter family aid set out in +PLUS Budget will reach all children under five years old, all children with disabilities, as well as families caring for adults with severe disabilities. Speaker Igor Grosu and Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu made the statement at a joint press conference.
The money will be available from 2 May on the benefit card. Families without a social card will receive the money on any active card or at the post office.
'I know expectations are high, which is why we have provided assistance to various categories of people over time. Now it is the turn of families with young children because we want families in Moldova to find support at home, not to seek it abroad,' Grosu said.
Buzu said that the authorities would identify active cards in Moldova for diaspora families, and if not found, the payment will be available at the post office until the end of the year or can be collected based on a power of attorney.
'The beneficiaries of the aid will receive an SMS from the bank, and CNAS will also provide details on the hotline,' the minister noted.
According to the authorities, the total value of this Easter assistance is 470 million lei, benefiting around 230,000 people. Around 200,000 families will receive aid worth 1,500 lei. 5,000 lei will be given to 11,500 families with children with disabilities and 20,000 families caring for adults with disabilities.
