Judges evaluation commission concludes 2025 hearings with Vasile Nogai case

The last hearing this year of the Judges Evaluation Commission focused on Judge Vasile Nogai, former president and interim president of Drochia Court. The Commission announced that it will issue a report on this case within 30 days.

The session was held in front of Panel D, led by Marcel van de Wetering (vice president of the Commission and president of the panel), along with members Iurie Gațcan and Lilian Enciu.

During the public part of the hearing, the Commission examined issues concerning the judge's financial integrity, including: donations received from relatives, the acquisition of vehicles at prices below market value, actual possession of a car, and possible accumulation of unjustified wealth over the years.

Additionally, the Commission investigated two potential conflict of interest situations in which the judge might have been involved in the exercise of his duties. At the judge's request, third parties intervened in the closed portion of the hearing.

The Commission's report, which will determine the passing or failing of the evaluation, will be presented within 30 days.
