Liliana Vițu resigns as President of Audiovisual Council
Liliana Vițu has resigned from her position as president of the Audiovisual Council (CA). She announced today that she is giving up her mandate, in the context of a change in her professional life.
In a message posted on a social network, Liliana Vițu thanked the team for their work and effort during almost five years of activity.
“In connection with an anticipated change in my professional life, today I submitted my resignation from the position of president of the CA. I thank my colleagues for their support and the effort made over almost five years so that the mission of the national regulatory authority—namely to serve the public interest and to protect the country’s information space—could be fulfilled,” emphasized Liliana Vițu.
She stressed that in recent years the Audiovisual Council has strengthened its position both at European level and in the process of regulating the media market in the Republic of Moldova.
“The CA is a vocal institution among European organizations in the field, it contributes to the European integration process, but, more importantly, it ensures that people have access to audiovisual programs of better quality, closer to their concerns and with greater respect for the requirements of the law,” she added.
Liliana Vițu has headed the Audiovisual Council since December 2021. She was appointed as a member of the institution at the proposal of the Government, and later took over the position of president.
