Marcel Dumbravan to serve as interim head of Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office
Marcel Dumbravan will serve as interim head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. The decision was made by the members of the Superior Council of Prosecutors and was proposed by Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu.
So far, Dumbravan held the position of deputy chief prosecutor, responsible for the North Office of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. He has been operating in the prosecutor's office since 2008.
Veronica Drăgălin's term as head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office ended yesterday after she resigned on February 19. Her request was accepted by the Prosecutor General on March 5.
In a message posted on her page today, Drăgălin noted that at the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office she led a team of professionals dedicated to the fight against corruption. "I remain firmly convinced that Moldova deserves a future free of corruption, where public institutions serve the people, not political interests," Drăgălin said.
