Moldova's acting prosecutor general to be heard again by Prosecutors’ Evaluation Commission

The Prosecutors’ Evaluation Commission has announced a second round of hearings with Acting Prosecutor General Alexandru Machidon, for additional clarifications as part of the evaluation procedure.

“The Prosecutors’ Evaluation Commission will hold a second hearing with Acting Prosecutor General Alexandru Machidon on 13 January 2026, at 16:00, at the National Justice Institute. The hearing will take place in a closed session, in accordance with legal procedures,” the Commission says.

Alexandru Machidon was previously heard on 10 December 2025, and the recording of that session is available to the public. Following the first hearing, the Commission found that further clarifications were needed, which led to the scheduling of a new round of questions. According to the decision of the Evaluation Panel, the questions raised will be examined confidentially.

Under the provisions of Law No. 252/2023, the subjects of the evaluation have the right to consult the case materials up to the date of the hearing. They may also submit additional written information and data, and may provide explanations regarding any doubts communicated by the Commission.

Throughout the evaluation procedure, the subjects may be assisted by a lawyer or a trainee lawyer.
