Moldovan driving licences to be able to be exchanged in France without exams starting March 1
Citizens of Moldova residing in France will be able to exchange their Moldovan driving licence for a French one without taking theoretical or practical exams starting from March 1.
According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE), this facilitation applies to drivers who hold category B licences, for driving cars with up to 9 seats and a maximum authorized total weight of 3.5 tons, issued by the authorities of Moldova after January 1, 2020.
“This measure becomes possible after France completed the internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the bilateral Agreement on the mutual exchange of driving licences, signed between the governments of Moldova and France,” the MAE said.
According to the authorities, the agreement will have a direct impact on Moldovans settled in France, significantly simplifying administrative procedures, eliminating additional costs and the time needed to take new driving tests.
The initiative helps facilitate the integration of Moldovan citizens in France and the mutual recognition of official documents between the two countries.
