New class of future judges, prosecutors graduate from National Justice Institute of Moldova

A new class of future judges and prosecutors has graduated from the National Justice Institute (INJ). Wearing robes at the end of an intensive stage of study, 30 graduates received their certificates. Justice Minister Vladislav Cojuhari highlighted society’s expectations from the new generation of magistrates.

The work of the new judges and prosecutors must be based on professionalism, integrity, independence and respect for the law, Cojuhari emphasized.

“The Justice Ministry continues to improve working conditions in the system, so that you can fully dedicate yourselves to the mission of administering justice and protecting citizens’ rights. The digitalization of justice, the construction of court buildings, the drafting of laws that protect you, as well as the continuous training of judges and prosecutors are shared priorities at the level of the government, the ministry and the INJ,” said Vladislav Cojuhari.

The future judges and prosecutors were congratulated by Ambassador of Romania to Moldova Cristian-Leon Turcanu. The 18th class includes 12 candidates for the position of judge and 18 candidates for the position of prosecutor.

“I wished the young graduates success in their future career, which is full of responsibilities and difficult, but provides satisfaction through the decisive role it plays in defending the rule of law. The new generation of magistrates is to strengthen the judicial system on a period marked by reforms and the need for staff. Romania is constantly with Moldova in ensuring an independent judiciary along its pro-European path,” said Cristian-Leon Turcanu.

The National Justice Institute, founded in 2006, is responsible for the initial and continuous training of professionals in the justice field.
