Number of households receiving energy compensation for December increase in Moldova; payments transferred to cards starting January 9
About 618,339 households, home to approximately 1,240,000 people, will receive energy compensation for last December. The number of beneficiaries is higher compared to the first month in which the compensations were granted, when payments reached 605,538 eligible households.
The Labor and Social Protection Ministry informed that, starting from today, January 9, transfers to bank cards of payments for heating compensations for December 2025 had been initiated.
As of January 12, payments can be collected at post offices across the country, based on an identity card.
The National Social Insurance House (CNAS) today said that it had allocated 464.1 million lei for the payment of energy compensations provided in the form of monetary payments.
At the beginning of December 2025, CNAS financed the payment of the energy compensation granted as a monetary payment for November 2025. The amount allocated was 454.4 million lei. The money reached 605,538 eligible households.
The Aid at the Meter program has been offering, for the fourth consecutive year, energy compensations to vulnerable households for the November–March period. The compensations are provided as monetary payments, disbursed monthly.
People who have not yet submitted applications to request compensation can still do so, but they will not receive compensations for previous months. If the application was submitted after the 25th of the month, compensations will be provided starting from the following month.
